Upgrading from a Previous Version

Follow the instructions below to upgrade your current version.

  • 1. Save the download file which is a self-extracting file into a temporary directory.

    NOTE: If there is a data conversion step, ensure that your \remotedesk\database folder is backed up before proceeding.

  • 2.Using Windows Explorer, find the file in the directory and double click on it to extract the files and automatically run the RemoteDesk program update. It will find the RemoteDesk installation and will update and convert any data files if necessary.

    If there is a database conversion (see the update notice), then you should update ALL remote site PC's to the same RemoteDesk version. Running different RemoteDesk versions on different PC's can potentially cause problems.
